Kaiya Mumma - Instructor/Choreographer

Kaiya's journey in dance began at the tender age of three, and she has now become a proud instructor at Imperium Dance Company. Hailing from Duluth, Minnesota, dance has been a constant presence in her life. Initially, Kaiya admitted to disliking dance and even quit to pursue gymnastics. However, her mother reintroduced her to the world of dance when she was five, and since then, Kaiya has never looked back. At the age of eight, Kaiya delved into competitive dance and has since garnered numerous awards across various competitions. Her accolades range from judges' choice awards to multiple standout dancer awards. Notably, she had the opportunity to be featured in a commercial for the Willie Kruger competition and showcased her skills in hip hop during the halftime show for the Harlem Globetrotters. While Kaiya has a background in genres such as jazz, ballet, tap, contemporary, and heels, her specialization lies in hip hop. Over the years, she has received extensive training from different studios with diverse teaching methods. Though Kaiya has a passion for performing, she has discovered her true calling in teaching. She is thrilled to embark on this new chapter, where she can ignite the passion and love for hip hop within fellow dancers in the community.
